It's Thursday night or Friday morning. You know that nebulous time after midnight, but before 5:00 a.m. and Muddear is screaming bloody murder. After feeling around blindly for my glasses and running down the hall to her room, I find Muddear sitting on her bedside commode.
"What is wrong?" I ask.
"I don't know!"
"Why were you yelling?"
"I couldn't help!"
"Why were you calling me?"
"I'm losing my mind!"

People with Alzheimer's disease frequently become more disoriented after dark or when waking. Leaving a night-light on in the bedroom may be helpful.
