Tips For Caregiver's

People with Alzheimer's disease frequently become more disoriented after dark or when waking. Leaving a night-light on in the bedroom may be helpful.

Time to Get A Life...

It's official...I have no life. On Saturday night one of my best friends and I decided to grab a bite to eat and catch a movie. (The Pursuit of Happyness - Will Smith - Awesome movie! A definite MUST SEE!) Anyway, the movie ended at about 11:30 p.m. and I was ready to party. I needed some "me" time and wasn't ready to go home yet. Unfortunately, the stars were not aligned in my favor.

1. My girlfriend hadn't been feeling well which meant NO drinking.
2. I had no idea where to find the "happening" nightlife.
3. It was too late to call anyone else I knew to go out.
4. Going to a bar alone did not get the number one vote.

So what's a girl to do when either a martini or Mojito are on the top of the list of must haves and there is no one to toast? Meijers! Yep, that's right, I walked around the toiletry and cosmetic sections for about two hours! To finish the evening off, I went to the 24 hour Walgreens and did the same thing for another 45 minutes! By the time I arrived home it was after 2:45 a.m. I then spent the next hour and a half using my new products!

What has happened to me?

LOL! The highlight of any week of mine is the few hours I might get to spend just vegging at Borders. I leave work at 12:30 and sit at Borders reading or browsing for about forty-five minutes to an hour, then go home to take care of Grandma. My weekends, of course, being spent sitting in the house waiting to be needed, those few precious moments to myself a week are gold!

Shadowspun,

You are so right. I have decided that at least once a month, I am going out with friends for ME time. At least once or twice a month, my husband and I go out for MARRIED time. And at least once a month I take Muddear out for MUDDEAR time. I'll let you know how it goes.
