Tips For Caregiver's

People with Alzheimer's disease frequently become more disoriented after dark or when waking. Leaving a night-light on in the bedroom may be helpful.

Birthday Wishes

I am so excited! Today is Muddear's birthday. She is officially 97 years old - how grand! Tonight, we plan to take Muddear to dinner to celebrate. I've already talked to Sharon, the aide, and asked her dress Muddear for going out. No matter where we go for dinner, the restaurant must serve ribs or rib tips. Pork or beef - it doesn't matter to Muddear, she just loves ribs.

I plan to take tons of pictures of this momentous occasion. I don't know many people who reach the age of 97 and therefore I think I may be more excited than Muddear. Nevertheless, I am sure there will be plenty of pictures and funny stories to share.

Happy Birthday Muddear!

Thank you for the insight into your life and your families. I spent nearly four years working in an Alzheimer’s/Long Term Care facility in Utah and I know the difficulties and pains associated with caring for a loved one. I personally got to know some great people I helped care for and I also became close with some of their families. I’ve seen a lot of resources that help. One in particular seems to be a great benefit: http://www.thecaringspace.com
Please pass this link along if you feel anyone could benefit from it.
