Tips For Caregiver's

People with Alzheimer's disease frequently become more disoriented after dark or when waking. Leaving a night-light on in the bedroom may be helpful.

Hearing Loss

Last night Muddear says...

"Did I tell about the time I lost my hearing?"
"No, you never told us that story."
"Oh yeah... one night I went to bed and I could hear. The next day when I woke up my hearing was gone! I guess I should'a went to the doctor, but we didn't go to the doctor back then."
"That's terrible!"
"I know... its been gone ever since!"

Hi N, Glad to see you getting in this type of post again. Muddear's comments are precious.

Keeping track of you all via subscription, so not getting to your blog to comment as often.

Hope Muddear's lungs are improving and she is breathing easier.

Also wishing you well with all the school work and job with some time to actually enjoy family too.

Hugs and wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Jane

Thanks Jane! I must say, I've missed hearing from you. With school my posts have been less frequent.

No one is really getting enough of my time - including me. Probably why I don't have as many comments from Muddear - just more factual about what's been happening with her on somewhat of a daily basis.

Thanks for following!

My name is Kathy Hatfield and I am the primary caregiver for my 80 year old Dad who has Alzheimer's disease and lives with me in North Carolina.

I am writing a daily blog on my caregiver website that shows the lighter side of caring for someone with dementia. There is also lots of information about dementia and caregiving, as well as a LIVE CHAT every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time for caregivers who need support, but cannot attend a “live” support group.

Please pass this link along to anyone you feel would enjoy it.

Kathy NC,

Thanks for sharing. It is definitely needed. My husband and I contemplated starting a support group. Sadly we just don't have the time right now. Kudos to those who do.
